SWOT Analysis


This is a form of analysis of your business and how it matches the market that you are targeting. The first two terms stand for Strengths and Weaknesses, and they examine what you are good at in your business and what weaknesses you have that need to be addressed in your marketing plan. The second two terms are Opportunities and Threats, and they anticipate the positive and negative developments in your market over the period of the plan. Once you have identified the major factors, you can plan to exploit the opportunities and to deal with any threats. It is a useful analysis, but it needs to be done by several people and preferably with some external guidance to ensure that you confront the brutal facts or seize all the opportunities available.
