when the only way to close a sale is through personal selling.
Similarly, maintaining relationships with large customers is
always best done face-to-face. The characteristics of a sales
force are that they have a high impact with customers and that
they can develop a strong rapport quickly. They are also
expensive to operate and so need to be targeted at your best
opportunities. The key to a good sales force are finding the
right people, training them well, clearly targeting them,
measuring them closely and rewarding them for results.
