Search engine submission
When a site has been optimised, it needs to be submitted
to the full range of search engines so that they can add it to
their directories. If possible, pages should be submitted a
few at a time and every 3-4 days to each site. You can
check the results after about 3-4 weeks to see if you have
been added. It is possible that your submission will be
ignored and you should resubmit your pages if this happens. If
this seems like a tedious process, it is, but it is worth it
in the end. On some search engines you can pay to have an
accelerated review. You should note that this
offers you no guarantee of a place in the directory. It is
merely a way of getting towards the top of the queue to be
reviewed.
The best method of getting your pages listed
is to link to them from another site that has a reasonable
reputation with the search engines. If you do not have another
site that you can link from, you can pay for the services of a
search engine expert, who will maintain several sites for this
type of purpose. Using this linking method it is usually
possible to get a site listed in a day or two. Getting a large
site indexed fully will usually be based on the same method,
although it is somewhat more complex and is better done by an
expert.
